A happy birthday

Last saturday was Ricky's birthday, he tunred 33.


I just have to say, every year I appreciate him more and more. No, he is not perfect and we have definatley have our share of arguements. But he is an awesome, amazing person, a good daddy, and I feel so lucky to call him mine:)

He spent his birthday at my mom and dads building a deck for my dad to get in and out of their house in his wheelchair, so while he was gone I was planning a birthday dinner at home. He had requested taco's, and his favorite cake. So I spent the afterenoon cleaning and making the dining room nice and party-ish.

It was so nice to gather together and celebrate his special day. I am so happy my kids have a daddy that loves them and would do anything for them, just like I did. They won't know how lucky they are until they are older, I'm sure. Dinner was good, the cake was even better. Happy Birthday my sweet husband and best friend!



The heath bar cake is his favorite. I make it every year for his birthday and Fathers Day. Its also super easy.

1 box german chocolate cake mix
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 jar hot fudge topping
cool whip
heath bar crumbled topping

Bake cake as directed on box
After cake is finished baking,while still warm and after you've placed on cake plate, poke holes with a toothpick and pour sweetened milk all over top evenly and slowly.
Then pour hotfudge evenly.
After cake has cooled cover in cool whip and heath bar crumbles.
