Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year.I can't believe its come and gone!The kids got all they asked for and more,We (me and the kids)still have a week off from work and school and we are praying it goes by slow:)
On Christmas Eve we usually have somewhere to go or something to do,but this year we had nothing.It was so nice,we sat at home all day in our pajamas,baked cookies,watched movies and played games.Ricky baked us a turkey and made dressing for the first time.I have never made dressing,my mom makes it every year and hers is the best.It turned out great and we just enjoyed being together.We let the kids open their gifts from us on Christmas Eve,I read them the Christmas story(the real one,about Jesus)I think we forget and get caught up in all the commericalized stuff this time of year!I'm sure Jesus wouldn't want us running around maxing out our credit cards and going crazy to get the next gift on His birthday.Its hard not to get caught up in it all.I wanted Eli and Ava to really understand why we give gifts,because God gave us the ultimate gift,His Son.Thank God for that!
Christmas morning my mom and dad,Anna,Jeremy and Dakota,Grandma and Pop all came over.We ate,opened more gifts;) and just had a good time being together.We went to see Ricky's family later that day.We did Christmas with my family the week before Christmas.It was great this year!

We've had a great time being off from school,took the kids ice skating and they had a blast!I sit out this time,not sure if its safe to bust my butt being almost 6 months pregnant!I got some good pictures though!Speaking of pictures.....I got my Christmas gift a few weeks early this year,the new Nikon 5100!!!Woo Hoo!I LOVE it,so I got to break it in a little more over Christmas:-)
