Last week I went and had lunch with Eli at school,I checked him out and we spent the afternoon together.I absolutley love him so much!Upon his request we went to walmart to look for the movie Old Yeller, they've been reading it in class so he wanted to watch the movie.I warned him it was very sad, although I don't think I can recall ever seeing it myself. But so I've heard. We ended up getting Where the Red Fern Grows,we couldn't find Old Yeller,he also got some football gloves he just couldn't live without:-)
After our walmart trip we went over to Mandy's frozen yogurt and had some ice cream! It was so nice just hanging out with him,one on one.Talking to him about what he's interested in.I need to do this more often,he's growing up so so fast. But he still enjoys spending time with his ole mama.So I'll take it while I can and while it lasts:)
He's most definatly one of the best people I know,Eli has an amazing heart,he cares for people. But dosen't always want to show his sweet side,he's too tough for that:)
He came to me the other night asking me about his salvation. It made me so happy inside to know that he truly loves our God and wants to make sure he's saved so he will live forever with God in Heaven. He was concerned that he thought he was saved, but what if he really wasn't?It made me realize what an incredible job I have and how I'm the one completly responsible for making sure my children know about God,and his love and his son Jesus. And making sure I tell it to him correctly. So we had a nice heart to heart talk that night.I told Eli that God wants to know all of his concerns and I told him I would pray with him to make sure he was saved, but that he wanted to do on his own:)
I know God has great things in store for him,and a great life planned for him.As his mother I feel like my job is to make sure he is as close to God as he can be,what else matters in this life besides that. All of these things will fade away but your soul will live forever!Thank you God for my amazing little boy!!
