Evelyn June Braggs is here!
She was born Thursday April 26th at 4:28 p.m.
Here's her story.........
I was schelduled to be induced thursday morning,we had to be at the hopsital at 8:30 a.m.We got there right on time,my nurse hooked me up to the heart rate moniter and the contraction moniter as soon as we got there. She started my patosion at around 10:30.By that time I was already having some very mild contractions on my own, after the patosion they intensified a little.Dr Bryd came in at 12:00 and broke my water, almost immediatley my contractions were Extremly strong!I was only 2 centimeters when I went in that morning. After breaking my water I was at 4,the pain was getting unbearable, they told me as soon as I wanted mt epidural to let them know and they would get it for me.So by then I was ready!
I remember with my last 2 epidurals I could move my feet and my legs somewhat but this time was completly different.I could barely wiggle my toes,I hated it,it was actually a little scary.I didn't like not having any control over my lower body whatsoever.I wonder now if she gave me too much.
After I got my epidural the nurse checked me and I was still at 4,having very strong contractions.Everyone came back in the room,I started looking at the clock and thinking this was going to take all night! So everyone decided they would run out and grab some lunch.Ricky had been stuck in the room all day so I told him he should leave and get a starbucks. My mother in law and my dad were in the room with me and a moniter started going off.I called the nurse in and she checked me,I had jumped to 8 centimeters in around 30 minutes.Baby's heartrate had dropped and I was scared to death.Ricky had just left so the nurse gave me my phone and said call him and tell him to get back! She called Dr. Bryd and he was on his way.My nurse that I had all day was at lunch so she rushed back in.By the time Ricky got back and Dr. Bryd came in,it was time to start pushing,I could not believe how fast it was going.
But since my legs were completly numb I could not move them to the stirups and could barely push,I just couldn't feel anything.I pushed enough for her head to crown and they had to use forceps to get her the rest of the way out:(
The moment we had all been waiting for!!!!
ITS A GIRL!Those were the words that we couldn't wait to hear!It was such an amazing feeling,we had no idea what she would be.My 1st thought was how happy Eli and Ava would be to meet their little sister.
When she was 1st born she didn't cry,it took her a few minutes, which scared me because with Eli and Ava they both cried immadietly. They said they were going to send her to the NICU,so I tried not to panick, they assured me she was fine just wanted to make sure her breathing was ok,after a few minutes I finally heard it,the sound I had been waiting for,her 1st cry!It was beautiful and I was overwhelmed with happiness!!They ended up not having to take her to the NICU,thank God!Her breathing evened out and she was perfect.
We called for Eli and Ava to come in first,we wanted them to be the 1st to see her and know she was a girl, they smiled and couldn't stop. They were instantly in love just like us:)Eli never said anything about her being a girl and not a boy,he didn't care at all.He just said Evelyn is awesome! And she is!She's the sweetest little angel and we are so so blessed to have her with us,healthy and happy. She looks so much like her daddy, she's got his exact ears:)
Thanks for sharing this beautiful story. I am so happy for your family!
