I think everyone can remember back to their childhood one of their favorite meals was probably spaghetti. And everyone loved their moms spaghetti the best. Everyone makes it but they're all so different. We have our own recipe's or our mothers version. Which I think is so cool and in our house spaghetti is a favorite.
It hasn't always been that way, believe it or not. Eli, my least picky eater, used to put up a fight on spaghetti night. Funny, because I did the same thing as a kid, even though I really liked it. Its a control thing I guess. Now he's fine. I think he'll eat pretty much anything thats edible.
So I thought it would be fun to post my recipe and see what some of yours are.
And the newest member of the family loves spaghetti too!
I cook spaghetti almost weekly. 1 reason is the kids love it and its also a really healthy meal. Made with 100% real food.
So, here's my spaghetti recipe..........
1 box of whole wheat spaghetti noodles
1 lb. organic ground beef
1 jar of organic sauce
1 large can tomato sauce
bell pepper or red pepper
garlic
organic baby bella mushrooms
fresh parm cheese for topping
For the sauce, I cook the pepper and garlic with the meat and add the mushrooms to the sauce and let simmer about 15 mintes or so. Sometimes, I'll add onion or zuchinni to my sauce. Any fresh vegie is good and the kids don't know its in there so its a great way to sneak vegies in their food.
I add a little salt and olive oil to my noodles as they cook.
There it is.........
I would love to hear some of your recipes!
We always mix it up! But it's usually lots of gArlic, onions, and ground beef. I love adding different spices like coriander (love the smell) and turmeric (which I can never detect!) and I love using brown rice noodles.
