Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a big deal to me, a very big deal. I have tried so many recipes over the years, I've altered, added more butter, less flour, whatever. But never have I made a cookie that I just loved. They've been to cakey, and that may be good for some,if you're the cakey cookie type. But for me, I like a chewy, buttery, crunchy cookie.

So, I stumbled upon this recipe, I changed it up a bit and it has been a huge hit for my family! I try not to make them all the time, because I have a hard time not eating them just because they are there. But today I'm making them! And the kids will have a sweet little suprpise when they get home today.

Here's the recipe for anyone wanting to try them.

I use almost all organic ingredients.
I know they're cookies, but it makes me feel better to feed them to my family.

2 sticks of butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract, or 1 half vanilla bean
4 egg yolks
2 1/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
sprinkle of sea salt
1 bag chocolate chips

Combine ingredients, like you would any cookie recipe. beat butter with sugars, add vanilla and eggs, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix in chocolate chips. Drop cookies on cookie sheet and before putting them in the oven sprinkle them with a touch a sea salt.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or until golden.

These cookies are my absolute favorite and adding that salt to the top before you bake just does it! Makes 'em perfect!

Let me know if you try them and what you think.

Enjoy!
