Where do I begin,Charleston was amazing! It was the most beautiful city I've ever seen,so much history there and so interesting! We flew out friday morning to Charlotte,NC and drove to Charleston. It was about a 3 hour drive,we got there too early to check into our hotel so we drove around downtown and it was beautiful,so many shops and restaraunts,we stayed in North Charleston Friday and Saturday night. We took at carriage ride tour through the historic district and our guide was a high school history teacher,we learned so much! The homes there are amazing!!I took so many pictures. One of my favorite places we ate was called Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.,it was so fun and so funny!Everything was from the movie, and the food was great!
Sunday we toured the Middleton Plantation,it was a home from the Civil war and the original was destoted but there was another home there they built in the later 1800's.The gardens were gorgeous and I still can't get over the live oak trees with the spanish moss!
Sunday we drove down to Folly Beach only about 45 minutes from where we were and stayed there sunday night. We just hung out on the beach the whole day,I read and had a few margarita's:)!We collected tons of seashells for the kids,Because thats all they said they wanted us to bring back,Oh and hats:)!It was the perfect end to our
trip!
Monday we flew home and since we were flying on stand by we waited in the airport for 11 hours!!!!!!!!It was crazy, but we finally made it home!
The airplane was better than I expected but it was still a little scary!:-0
BACK TO REALITY!!.........Tuesday moring Eli woke up with a horrible sore throat and his glands were as big as golf balls,so I took him to the dr. and sure enough he had strep throat:(
Later in the day I noticed Ava's earing was infected and it looked like the plastic back of her earring was actually stuck in her ear!IT WAS!!We tried for a hour to get it out of her ear and it was hurting her(and me) too bad ,I finally decided to take her to the after hours dr here in town expecting the absolute worst!Thankfully they were not busy and got her back right away, they ended up having to give here a shot to numb the ear and cut the back out!It was really stuck and had started growing into the skin! They were the nicest people too!
Well,it was good to get away, but now back to our crazy busy life and I would'nt trade it for anything in the whole world!!!:)
Here are a few pictures of our trip to Charleston..........
